Viola

Eric Evans, Principal

Eric Evans has been Principal Viola and Treasurer for the Georgia Philharmonic since its founding. Prior to moving to Georgia, Eric performed with the Columbus (IN) Pro Musica and the Owensboro (KY) Symphony Orchestra. He has a Bachelor of Music degree from Indiana University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Dayton School of Law. Eric has been actively involved in the Atlanta real estate community for the past 12 years and is currently Georgia State Manager for Old Republic National Title Insurance Company.

Mary McCoy

Mary McCoy has been a part of this orchestra for 10 years. In addition to performing with them on Viola, she is the ensemble's Music Librarian, and is a board member for both the orchestra and the Georgia Chapter of the American String Teachers' Association. Ms. McCoy is an Orchestra teacher for the Fulton County School system, a private lesson instructor on Violin and Viola and an active freelance performer on those two instruments.

Kathy Wellman

Kathy Wellman has been a member of the Orchestra since 1985. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is employed as a real estate paralegal at Alston & Bird, LLP. She is also a member of the orchestra at the First Presbyterian Church in Midtown Atlanta.
